TNG eWallet Refreshes Homepage as Revenue Shifts Beyond Just Payments (2026)

TNG eWallet, a prominent player in Malaysia's fintech landscape, is undergoing a significant transformation. The company is revamping its homepage to reflect its evolving role beyond traditional payments. This shift is a testament to the company's strategic expansion into diverse financial services and its commitment to enhancing user experience.

A New Homepage, A New Focus

The updated homepage, launching on June 4th, introduces a search-first layout, a significant departure from the traditional app structure. This design choice prioritizes user convenience, allowing them to quickly find the services they need without navigating through multiple layers. Four quick access hubs have been introduced: GOfinance for financial services, Near Me for local deals, Bills for utility payments, and Transport for commuting.

The navigation bar has been simplified, designed with one-handed use in mind, ensuring accessibility and ease of use. This redesign is a strategic move to streamline the user experience, making the app more intuitive and user-friendly.

Beyond Payments

TNG Digital, the operator of TNG eWallet, attributes the revenue shift to the app's growing popularity across various sectors. Financial services, travel, remittance, merchant services, advertising, and other ecosystem offerings now contribute more than half of its revenue. This diversification is evident in the app's growing user base, with over 26 million verified users and 13.5 million Malaysians using the app monthly.

Active users engage with the platform approximately twice a day, indicating a high level of user engagement. Interestingly, cross-border, remittance, and international services now account for 10% of total revenue, a significant increase from almost zero a few years ago. Business-to-business offerings, including advertising and digital infrastructure services, contribute 6% of total revenue, showcasing the app's growing importance in the digital economy.

A Holistic Approach

Alan Ni, CEO of TNG Digital, emphasizes the app's transformation from a payment tool to a comprehensive lifestyle management platform. He states, 'TNG eWallet is no longer just a payment app. Malaysians are using us to manage various aspects of their daily lives, from financial growth to international travel and bill payments.' This shift is evident in the revenue structure, with over half of the revenue now coming from businesses beyond payments.

Chiew Wei Wing, Chief Product and Growth Officer, highlights the app's expanded ecosystem, stating, 'Over the years, TNG eWallet has grown beyond payments. The new experience brings our ecosystem together, making everyday services more accessible and user-friendly.' The goal, according to Wing, is to create a platform that feels intuitive and tailored to individual users' lifestyles.

Future Expansions

TNG Digital plans to continue expanding TNG eWallet's reach across financial services, commerce, travel, and lifestyle use cases. This ongoing evolution reflects the company's commitment to innovation and user-centric design, positioning TNG eWallet as a leading fintech solution in Malaysia and beyond.
